About

Hi, I'm April!

I am a licensed massage therapist and a certified manual lymphatic drainage therapist. With extensive knowledge on trauma informed care my goal is to deliver excellent results while always prioritizing clear communication, consent, and comfort.

I graduated from Whatcom Community College’s Massage program in Bellingham, WA, equipped with a diverse range of techniques, including but not limited to trigger point therapy, Swedish, deep tissue and pregnancy massage. In addition to these skills I also have a deep-seated passion for helping others achieve physical and emotional balance in their body and mind.

When I'm not working with clients, I enjoy trail running, exploring rivers, playing with my nieces and nephew, watching a movie series or finding a new walking path to explore. I love a good rainstorm!

My business is queer, trans and fat affirming. I want to prioritize accessibility in my space and am also constantly learning and growing in my practice to provide culturally and identity responsive care; confronting and undoing how bias, homophobia, transphobia, fatphobia, ableism and white supremacy show up in this work. I know not all body work spaces are safe or welcoming for all bodies and people, so if you want to find out more how that shows up in my space, click here.

Acknowledgment

I would like to acknowledge that my studio workspace rests on the ancestral homelands of the Coast Salish people, particularly the Jamestown S’Klallam Tribe, Makah Tribe,  the Quileute Tribe, and the Lower Elwha Klallam Tribe.

I am on this land because of the forced removal of its traditional people by colonists and settlers. As a white person of european descent who is a guest/settler on this land, I would like to recognize the native communities in my region and offer gratitude for their past and continued stewardship of these lands.

As a practitioner of some Traditional Chinese Medicine modalities, I would also like to acknowledge the roots of what I practice.

I work to respect and honor the origins of the modalities I practice. I do this by continuing to learn, working to make bodywork accessible and bringing light to the origins of what I practice. I am continually learning and adjusting how I practice body work thanks to feedback I have received and will continue to receive.
